The Still-life Realm..

Draw.. cut.. and stitch your way through a landscape of still life beauty. Rich vignettes, will open your eyes to a feast of interpretation possibilities. 

This evening, 3-week immersion will be an opportunity to play in the realm of the magical child.. steeped in a progressive, structured approach that with different mediums.

We will first loosen up with rapid exercises to help you find a sense of rhythm and play. Please note -no previous drawing skills are necessary.. valuable if you have.. however, often, the less skill the better.

We'll progress into simplifying.. stylising.. patterning.. layering & collage to inspire our next steps with needle.. thread.. cloth and stitch. 

Each phase of these explorations has the capacity to produce small works that may find a place in your home.. or as gifts for friends.

When: Tuesday evenings June 23rd & 30th, July 7th.   6pm-9pm
Cost: $430 -includes warming soup -affording you a no-cook evening

Materials: 

Please bring the following materials with you:

• An A-3 visual diary.
• 2.0 and 4.0 Fineline Artline pens. Black is super for this exercise (and what Trish has used in her signature imagery for many years now) ..equally, an HB, 2B a 3B/4B is useful. 
• Any favourite pastel -if you work with this medium.
• Any water colours or water colour pencils/water pencil, and inks -if you choose. 

• Any treasured remnant Fabrics that call to you for use in your final stitched works and any favorite threads. 
• If you have a treasured  item/object that captures your imagination and is significant in your visual world at home please consider bringing to add to the still life ensembles.

Trish will provide ample fabric pieces, and threads.. however if you have your own beloved kit, scissors or embroidery hoop, please bring your personal items with you.
