A journey into the heart..
During this 3-week journey, over three evenings, you will dive into the rich world of the ‘embroidered’.. exploring the sacred object.. in the form of an ornamental pendant, brooch or vessel.
Three evenings.. two approaches..
-The first approach involves ‘sculpting’ a small vessel from a piece of cloth.
With the repetitive use of running stitch.. you will manipulate your cloth to the desired shape. A surface design layer will then be applied.. from the minimal to the highly decorative.
Place these objects as you wish.. as personal adornment.. or about the home.. as keepers of treasured items: a ring, stone, thimble, a written prayer, small perfume bottle.. and so it goes etc etc..
-The second approach utilises Trish’s signature Ripped-Silk thread technique to create a rich, painterly silk surface.
Personal motifs/pattern/line will then be applied, using stranded embroidery thread, adding further richness to this silk surface.
In this way, a jewel like quality emerges..
Either approach.. worked with intention, each stitch imbues your heart-felt prayers into your cloth -a keeper of your sacred dreams.
Who is this for..?.
Suitable for those with some level of Stitch skill, or comfort with needle and thread. This does not mean you need to be an accomplished embroiderer.. this technique simply requires hand - finger - needle confidence and a willingness to expand your approach to stitch.
These three sessions will allow you to venture into the whimsy of your heart.. a sacred time carved out for you.. spending time in the calming, meditative approach of this work, to allow the magic to unfold.
