This two day immersion is an invitation to retreat into the Art of darning.. in service to your beloved items, awaiting an opportunity for renewal and tender loving repair.. or perhaps simply adornment and embellishment -darning for necessity.. embellishing just because.. both for the joy of it..
Utilising tried and true techniques that reach across time and cultures.. you will have the capacity to apply sensitive repair/stitch work to your desired pieces.
From the invisible to the visible.. the pared back, to the highly decorative.. holes, rips, and threadbare woven cloth items are all suitable for treatment, along with any woollen knits.
If you don’t currently have any pieces to work with.. then this is an opportunity to gather techniques of equal beauty and versatility in the form of a sampler.
When: Saturday June 20th & Sunday 21st 10am-4:30pm (includes lunch break)
Cost: $430 -includes a cosy lunch, & afternoon tea both days.
Materials: All materials provided.. however if you have your own beloved kit, scissors or embroidery hoop, please bring your personal items with you. Please also bring a visual diary and pencil, or artline,
